| Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles. Are there any fans of the old CDC line out there who would like Mattell or Admiral or ANYBODY to revive the true diecast models of the last decade of the last century? If you don't know them, check out Legio LXX11's site ( link at the foot of his last post in this thread ) or check out the site ' Mike's Tanks' to view the range. If there is any chance of anybody issuing the unissued Blitzes or 251s please do so. You have a lot of dedicated AFV die-cast collectors who will be waiting. Now that some manufacturers have the experience and links to outworkers in China, I'm sure that it wouldn't be that hard! MoMo Come on, Fat Cats! | |||||||||||||

| Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles. These cdc ones are the ones that have been released under the Matchbox label most recently at Target I believe? The didn't sell very well it seems, even though they were the best 1:72 pieces I have seen - fit finish paint and weathering up to Dragon standards for the last models (75 & 76mm shermans), coupled with almost 100% metal, including tracks! Would love to see them again in new paint schemes. I picked up a score of those shermans at something like $4.84 ea on clearance. Don't know what major retailer would stock them if Mattel offered up for another go round, with Target hooked to FOV and Walmart with 21st. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles. I would like to see someone buy the old CDC Armour moulds from Mattell and release them. The problem would be trying to hunt down the right person at Mattell that actually knows about these since Mattell is a huge company. I seriously doubt Mattell will ever release them so the only option would be for some company to buy them if Mattell was willing to sell them. I'm waiting to hear back from Dino Coppola as to whether he kept any of the samples they used in their photographs and if any of the Tigers, halftracks and trucks were ever released anywhere and in any quantity. From his email, it sounded as if everything was sent to Mattell, painted samples and all. The Cologne shootout footage can be found at the link below. Speed up to 2 minutes and 10 seconds which is where it starts (everything before this is other various fighting around Cologne). It starts with a Sherman being taken out by a Panther (you see this in the video as well as the crew bale out), then another Sherman is taken out (you don't see this), then you will see a Pershing driving around looking for the Panther and finally taking it out. You will see it fire three times and each time you will see the eact spot where the shells land. You will see the Panther crew bale from the burning Panther. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...04009970606269 Below is another link to see the still-frame sequence of everything since the above footage is pretty shaky and sometimes hard to make out. You will get a very clear image from the pictures below as well as a very good description of everything. http://www.3ad.com/history/wwll/feat...ates.index.htm More still pictures and good descriptions. http://www.anicursor.com/colpicwar2.html | |||||||||||||

| Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles. Thanks, LegioLxx11, I looked at all three links. As you say, the movie footage is a bit shakey, but you can understand why. The second link wth stills is more interesting. However, I found that the last shot, taken days later from one of the Cathedral towers from the third link was the most fascinating. It is a real bird's eye shot in which the mass of the Panther is diminished. Much appreciated. I'm sure that many members who follow this thread will appreciate your efforts stemming from your own research. MoMo | |||||||||||||
