Re: About Altaya Armour

I have the older release, the WWII German "PUMA" and simply love it! Who else is even gonna make it?

EDG in 1:43 scale. I actually prefer bargain priced EDG/Schuco/DeAgostini/"whatever it name is today" models to those of IXO Jr. / Altaya despite the car collector's scale.

I have a German Puma by Gaso-Line, but it's 1/50 scale and was quite expensive (very nice quality, though).

Re: About Altaya Armour

Well, I will take that back as "who else is gonna make it". Should of said "who else is gonna make it in 1/72 scale"!

Actually, the positive side effect of price increases might be the better variety of subject mattered modeled. Although, the head honchos at Dragon have proven to be incredibly dense, but their 1:6th line is becoming increasingly varied. Heck, DML is even releasing a French Tanker circa 1940. In short, even myopic DML execs should realize soon enough that nobody is going to buy a $25USD Jagdtiger, Sturmtiger, Elefant, etc.

“Dense” is absolutely correct.

In short, even myopic DML execs should realize soon enough that nobody is going to buy a $25USD Jagdtiger, Sturmtiger, Elefant, etc.

You might add to your short list the Hummel, Nashorn and SdKfz 251 half-track.

Re: About Altaya Armour

Here's another picture of the alternate paint version of the Tiger II. Notice that the base color is olive drab instead of tan. The picture is from the French magazine that comes with some of the tanks. I have never seen this version for sale.
