Re: Just arrived GMP models

I also picked up the P-40s (Kittyhwak, Aleution Tiger, Texas Longhorn, and Old Exterminator) from "that auction site." Great deals on shipping. I have seen a number of our brethern bidding and I promise not to step on anymore auction toes as my GMP hangar is filled. Well, except if BBD surfaces.

Happy days,
I look back with a certain nostalgia at the day I got my first GMP P40, lifting the lid on the box and seeing that big gorgeous bird sitting there in all its glory.
Putting on the cotton gloves and gently lifting her out of her box, gingerly putting down the undercarriage and being delighted by the amazing effect of the whirring sound as the wheels came smoothly down.
Eagerly inspecting all the details and peering inside cockpit at all those lovely details, lifting off the panels and gazing with adoring eyes at the yet more intricate detailing.

Then standing the lovely lady on my desk and admiring her from ever angle.

There is nothing like opening your first GMP box, just amazing diecast.

God Bless America.

Jim, except for the mention of "GMP P-40," "cockpit," and possibly "panels," I'd think you were talking of Lorraine!

Re: Just arrived GMP models

I agree with you. I was hard pressed whether to leave the P-40s in the box or display them. I couldn't resist and have the Aleutian Tiger on display with others to follow in short order. I have the Aleution Tiger sitting on a FlexiDisply stand so I can have a "flying" version - a P-40 looks better in the air, in my opinion.

Amazing and spooky because that is exactly what I went through when I received my first GMP model
the 'Missouri Armada' and a week later I had to order the 'Texas Longhorn'.
And now that we're all 'hooked' we are left in the dark by GMP and experiencing the effects of
'COLD TURKEY' Life can be so cruel.

A very astute observation Captain.

Lorraine just has the edge over my GMPs, after all GMPs cannot make the tea!

They can't do certain other things either!
