Re: GMP RAF Kittyhawk

I haven't sold any of mine yet but have been contemplating putting Glamorous Glennis' 'on Ebay. I also did give a Duchess Arlene (and the Corgi Lee Archer figure) to my father-in-law......he collects K&C but loves the GMP Mustang and, afterall, he did take me and the wife to Europe twice all expenses paid (least I could do!).

I'll hang onto the rest of my GMPs for awhile though.

I have that one and signed by Mr.Yeager too.

Re: GMP RAF Kittyhawk

Last I checked, Go Motor Bids is still auctioning them off...

That's where mine is coming from. Do they ship pretty quickly after you pay for your purchase?

I hate to rain on your parade guys but ,,,,,,,

I have bought into GMP P40s , every time I buy into something it usually means that very soon the market for that product falls apart!!

That is the reason I never buy as an investment.

Re: GMP RAF Kittyhawk

Did the Hurri stand hold onto it really well ?
JP

Very well, very secure. I placed the model with front stand supports just behind the gear well and out of the way so the retracting gear are clearly visible; I placed the rear supports just in front of the tailwheel well. The rear supports don't really "fit" the model and look a tad odd, but the supports hold the model very well and very secure.

Try it with the gear coming up, I think it looks awesome! I always wanted a P-51 model, in flight, with gear partially extended/retracted. I love the look of it. And best of all, GMP modeled this one so it can be done and look accurate. That is the irony with this model: gear constructed as if in-flight mode (off the ground), but no in-flight display stand. I am sure you have a ton of stands, JP (4 engine Corgi heavies) you could experiment with. I only had three that even came remotely close: Corgi's 1:32 109, Spit, and Hurri. The Spit stand did worked (with gear up) but looked awful; the 109 stand looked terrific but precarious; the Hurri stand didn't look as awesome as the 109 stand, but it provided the needed security.

I've used Corgi's P51 display stand and it looks great!!

BTW, to avoid misunderstandings, I meant the combo GMP P40 & Corgi's P51 stand!!!

If that's true Jim, would you mind terribly investing in Oprah Winfrey? I just dislike her.....alot! My wife is one of her minion (Oprah's the devil you see) and I hate coming home to ".....Oprah says....". The only time I wanna hear that is when Oprah says you can buy as much diecast as you like!

p.s. Thank you in advance!!!
