| And here lies the problem.. We all love these "deals" that we get whether it be from Ebay or from a "seasonal clearance" but what it comes down to is if the retailer can't sell an item to make a decent profit, they won't order any more from the manufacturer which kills any desire for the manufacturer to make new items when people aren't buying what is currently available.
Carousel 1 is in the same predicament.. They made all these WWI (and some WWII) planes which are just gathering dust on retailer shelves, and with competeing manufacturers like Hobby Master which makes similar product for 1/2 the price, there is no incentive to make new stuff which really hurt those of us that collect that scale.. |
Exactly -- gomotorbids is killing GMP, I mean I feel like a sucker for buying the Longhorn at almost full retail... to have it appear there for 1/3 the price only a few months later. Do you think GMP sold off its excess stock to gomotor directly, or are these models coming from somewhere else?

I mean I love a good deal, but not at the longterm expense of the hobby. However, I doubt I'll be buying any more GMPs at full retail without waiting a while to see what happens. I don't want to be the ONLY person that pays $140
