GMP have to do a P47 Razorback. This is the aircraft that turned the tables in the ETO. It ripped the guts out of the Luftwaffe, and then tossed em to the P51's to finish off.

The P51 is a great aircraft and GMP make a fine model of it. However, the P47 was the raw beast that locked horns with the Luftwaffe when it was still at its best. By the beginning of 1944, when the P51 turned up, the cream of the Luftwaffe only
existed as kills on the sides of P47's. GMP must honour these P47 pilots with a 1/35 ...... it is their duty

But I think a lot of us are eagerly awaiting the Eagles Intl Razorback in 1/48. The pre-pro pictures posted by mhackl somewhere on the forum have me pretty exited, they just look sensational. However, I wouldn't mind having that bird in 1/35 (or 1/32) as well, and GMP are the right company to do it (or maybe someday Corgi will get back into large-scale diecast).

Thanks for the insight on GMP, LTP. Being a buyer of GMP's Motorsports Racing collectibles diecasts for the past 10+ years, I can certainly appreciate the statements made above. The phenominal growth of NASCAR and other related racing memorabilias merchandise have pretty much paid off handsomely on their ROI (return on investment) with those products. There's more demand for diecasts
racecars than warbirds, imho.

Their venture into military themed warbirds is but a small part of their business, so it would take a good amount of support from us and hopefully to those hobbyists/collectors who are not only enamored
with racing cars but also look into, and hopefully be enticed enough to buy GMP's WWII warbirds. You have a pretty sizeable group of folks in that area of collecting that could spend their wads of cash for the diecasts airplanes to boot. It's a "win-win" situation both for GMP and us as well.

I hope GMP change their mind and decide to pop out another aircraft model soon ( FW190 or P47 please). With Corgi resting the 1/32 range I have started snapping up the GMP's. They make 12 and I have 8 of them already....... it ain't going to be long before I run out of targets .

I have tried the FOV 1/32 aircraft. ......but they don't cut the mustard.

A flying stand an a flying pilot figure would be a good add on kit to produce in the mean time . However, Im not sure if you could slide the P51 canopy back emougth to get a bod in.
