Re: Would you buy a GMP F4U Corsair

I would buy one in a heartbeat, regardless of price.

Remember, there are at least two known corsairs Boyington did fly --so GMP wouldn't be limited to "Lucybelle/Lulubelle." Although nothing wrong with 25 kill flags arranged in a nice, neat box!

Kepford's plane looks great as well, with it's fuel tank tape and all.

Same for Big Hog.

Or even a plain jane tri-color with insignia w/ blue surround, and no numbers.

Whatever it is, just make sure it's a F4U-1A or -1D.

Bring it on! I've got money just itchin' to be spent on what's certain to be the best die-cast corsair model ever built!

Re: Would you buy a GMP F4U Corsair

Seeing how their P-51 and P-40 came out, I would most definitley buy at least one of ANY major WWII plane that they come out with. Added to that, I think a corsair would be awesome, and I would love to see what they could do with it. while I'm at it, put me in for a Kepford tri-color scheme as well.

Re: Would you buy a GMP F4U Corsair

I currently don't own any GMP models due to their price. However if I had the money, or the price was closer to the Eagles International offerings, I would certainly add it to my ever expanding aerodrome.

Now if Eagles offered up a Corsair I would be right there to buy one!

I recently picked up "Old Exterminator" for $51.00 from an on-line auction (not e-bay). If you search these threads (under GMP) you will find the information you need to secure one of these beauties for an incredible price. Good luck and if you need any help feel free to PM me.

Over the weekend I snagged Dutchess Arlene on ebay. I'm eager to see it in the flesh. For the Corsairs, I have a few in 1/72, but most fancy Kepford and Boyington. I wouldn't mind a Corsair in this scale.

Re: Would you buy a GMP F4U Corsair

I would really like to see them make this F4U Corsair.
The polls are still open until 4-27-2007.
So i hope GMP is watching this thread.

Re: Would you buy a GMP F4U Corsair

I answered yes, but I'd have to think about it before buying. Reasons: 1/35 scale versus 1/32, and price (although that last one might be taken care of by e-bay, who knows).

But it would be so tempting... Probably couldn't resist since there are no diecast 1/32 F-4Us available right now (I'm not counting the plastic versions).

Re: Would you buy a GMP F4U Corsair

No brainer--yes. We all know that over time they will come up with multiple liveries, as we have seen with the P-40 and P-51.

In fact I would buy almost any warbird GMP put out. It would have to be in an auction or a non-traditional (in a military diecast sense) as the $150 retail is painful.

I would like to see them do a Marine's Dream, and a Boyington Corsair.

Pappy Boyington #86 Lucybelle F4U Corsair first i hope...
JP

Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, with 28 victories to his name, led VMF-214 the famous "Black Sheep" Squadron.
The name for his aircraft. Some say it's "Lulubelle", others remember
it as "Lucybelle" (after his estranged wife) Pappy swore that he chnged it
to "Lulubelle" after an acrimonious separation!
