DM: John C. Meyer's "Petie 2nd" Mustang and Diorama

This is the first I've heard/seen of Danbury Mint's GMP John C. Meyer "Petie 2nd" P-51 Mustang + Diorama! Looks like a very nice piece to have especially if your tastes runs
into completing the legacy of "Blue Nose Bastards Of Bodney" collection.

They must have made more than 30 of the airplane... this was one of the models that was on gomotorbids for a time (sure wish I had nabbed it then! Was going for like $70-80... all sold out now)... maybe just 30 of the diorama? Or is it the same basic european diorama you can buy direct from GMP?

May we ask what it went for JP? (your sale, not original...)

Hard to believe then that a 30 run plane made it to the bargain bins..... maybe that's a typo and it's 300....

Re: DM: John C. Meyer's "Petie 2nd" Mustang and Diorama

I've seen that, thx... just says "limited edition" with more than "30 individual pieces" (refering to the diorama... not the production run of the model)

If it were only a run of 30, I doubt it woudl still be in stock

Maybe I'm all wet... wouldn't be the first time!

Re: DM: John C. Meyer's "Petie 2nd" Mustang and Diorama

Well i know that GMP made 1,000 of these Petie 3rd.
Maybe Danbury only got 30 of them along with a Diorama...
If i remember right i thought there was a Cert with it..
Anyway i sold my set to a buddy for 200.00 and back then
that was about right GMP sells the P-51D for 149 and the dio was about another 60 i think it was.
