A toast: To us

This may sound a little mushy, but it is true. The models of my collection have been purchased through different ways. I recieved a signed GMP P-51 from Gen. Yeager through my interview and eventual meeting with him, I also got a signed desk top X-1 from him. I have a signed desktop X-15 from Scott Crossfield, and other cool stuff as well. I see them not as models, but as reminders and trophies of certain things in life. I had to have a GMP Old Crow. I couldn't find one any where, and then Starman, someone that I met here went out and found one for me. He even went out to a yard sale because he thought that there was one there for me. He has come through with stuff for me time and time again-Thanks buddy. Then there is Waltz41, he is the first friend that I can say I met over the internet. I always made fun of that whole idea, but now I am part of a special group where that happens. Waltz had a Weary Spit, that he didn't have room for, saw my post, and e-mailed me. We talk from time to time on the phone, and am currently planning to meet up in a week or so. It was on the phone that he informed me that he had the Spit, and was just giving it to me! To top it off when I said that I didn't what to say, he played it off like it was no big deal. For me it was. Thanks man, next week should work out O.K. There are so many of you gus that have helped me out such as Hworth and others. Some of you guys have went out to Wallmart for nothing else but something that I was looking for. THis is an awsome place. So now those models in my collection have a special meaning as well. The GMP Old Crow that came from France, The spit that threw me for a loop, the P-47 and Zero I couldn't find anywhere that are now in my case, the Bats B-25, EE lighting, and so many others that I could go on for ever, hold a special story. I really don't have any ending for this little out burst planned. I just wanted to try and sum up what a true group of aviators(whether you fly or not) hang out here. I am done being a chick so talk among yourselves. I'll give you a topic new Corgi silver Mustangs. Discuss.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: A toast: To us

Happy to be able to help a model hanger buddy.
Hey don't forget about yourself too Chris...
You helped me when i needed to get a Tuskegee MB Mustang after that
contractor broke my son's plane.
That was the start of a cyberspace friendship.
As i call it we are all"Ghost in the machine"......
But sometime and somewhere it would be cool to meet some of you guys at a Airshow or Diecast toy show.
Until then let keep doing what we do best on this fourm....Talk Diecast..

Re: A toast: To us

This is a great place to come and just spend some time discussing or reading about something we all have a passion for, and when you get to connect on an even more personal level with someone that is even more special.
I'm glad to be a part of this forum and i'm glad it has carried over from the original.

Thanks to all for providing something I have to devout more internet time too!!!
