That's a bummer.. And he almost had it in, if it weren't for the dune..

Re: RC F-117 model crash!

Wow, do they usually fly that eratically or was he having issues with it the whole time and just trying his best to get it back safely?

Bummer

Re: RC F-117 model crash!

Dang. He did a good job bringing that thing in. The aircraft is incredibly unstable as it is, and to loose the canopy should have made it even more so, particularly as he slowed the thing down for landing.

Re: RC F-117 model crash!

I remember when it was posted on Universe, I said then and still think that pilot is an idiot. The aerodynamics of the plane was gone when the wiser opened in air, and he tried to land it on a small runway with a lot of people. He had almost no control, he could have hit somebody.

The thing he should do when it happened is crash land it in the open field he was flying over. He might have saved most of his plane, I work on a lot of RC Air shows. And I would have given him a red card for that.

Agreed. He flew the thing quite well under the circumstances. But he excercised extremely poor judgment.

Re: RC F-117 model crash!

Oh man....
He almost made it back
If the dune hadn't been there he might of landed a little better..
With that many people around i would of put it down in the field.
That's a chuck of change to own one of them
I'll stick to diecast.
