Re: Curtiss and Northrop

Welcome - the only ones I know of are the P-36s in 1/48 scale made by Carousel. But there are lots of more planes out there.

Welcome to the forum, Leandros. I think you will find it an interesting and informative place to share ideas and views. Regarding your question, as far as I know, there is only one diecast rendition of the P-36, as opposed to the export version, the Hawk 75. This is a 1:48th scale production by Carousel 1, which has several USAAF pre- WWII models currently available. Pictures can be found at any online seller---The Flying Mule, Pete's Collectibles, Aiken's Airplanes, Diecast Direct, On Mark International, The Motor Pool, etc---to name only a few. A publisher's promotional series of relatively low quality 1:100 scale models under the Atlas name included a French Hawk 75 about five to six years ago, which was sold on eBay. These are virtually impossible to find these days.

Sorry, but I am not aware of any Northrop diecast models being out there. The A-17 would be a welcome addition in the unlikely event that a diecast manufacturer decided to attempt it.

Welcome on board Leandros.

The NPB-3 would be an exciting model, but most unlikely...

Thank you all! And you are probably right. I shall treat you to a special film anyhow:

YouTube - Forgotten Aircraft - Northrop N-3PB Seaplane

This is from the Norwegian base at Iceland where Northrops (the only ones) were operated by RNoAF 330 sqn. They also had a detachment at Akureyri patrolling North Atlantic and the Denmark Strait between Iceland and Greenland.
