I used to frequent The Red Caboose at 23 W 45th Street in Manhattan. It opens for business around 11AM and is pretty messy but used to have a fairly large assortment of diecast warbirds, armor, etc.

| Re: Any good diecast stores in NYC? You are sure that this is a diecast store? Red Caboose sounds quite strage | |||||||||||||

Yes, I'm sure. I haven't been there for about five years but I purchased many diecast planes and tanks there before switching to online sellers as a matter of convenience. They also sell trains, hence the name. As I mentioned, the place is messy, with some display cases and many things piled up on shelves. Also, they don't carry all lines so it's best to call first if you want something in particular. Just go to Google and punch in the name plus NY and their phone number will pop up.

| Re: Any good diecast stores in NYC? Ah, ok. My dictionary also showed > buttocks, butt or bum < as a translation for caboose. So I was a bit unsure of what kind of shop you are writing | |||||||||||||
