Only one I can think of at the minute is Wonderland Models About Us it's about fifteen minutes walk from the castle and is a well stocked shop I have used it a few times though their diecast aircraft selection is poor.

Talking Re: Edinburgh

German air Force : " Wonderland " in Lothian Road ( Opposite the Film Theatre ) is the place for you. Great Model Shop, lots of 1.48 scale CDC Planes at half-price. Dragon too. King and Country, etc. Check out their web site.

Glasgow City Centre is 45 minutes from Waverley Train Station. An hour's journey takes you to Glasgow and Jaimison's Models ( brilliant hobby shop ), A1 War Games ( dragon + others )and The Treasure Bunker ( militaria, Dragons, FOV, King and Country, 21st Century, lots of military stuff and lots more )

If you have any question re particular stuff you're looking for, I have a good idea what is around.

Cheers,

MoMo

Re: Edinburgh

Doesn`t look like there is a dealer who sells HobbyMaster/EasyModell aircraft modells...
Or do you know one around Edinburgh?

Florian

(Different question : How do I get a picture above my name like you have it?)

Re: Edinburgh

Wonderland has Easy Model Aircraft and tanks, Hobby Master tanks and many aircraft models from numerous manufacturers. Jaimisons of Glasgow has Easy model tanks and aircraft and many, many aircraft models.

Re: Edinburgh

Thanks for your help, MoMo.

I am afraid this will be an expensive Shopping/Sightseeing/Mothers 60th birthday trip to Edinburgh.
Paid only 200 Euro for 3 tickets by German Wings and this will be the cheapest for the whole trip.
What else is around there when you are a little Aircraft-Freak beside the Edinburgh Airport?

Again thanks for your help

The Museum of Flight

Address: East Fortune Airfield, East Lothian EH39 5LF
Tel: 01620 880308

Uncover our fascination of flying at the Museum of Flight, in the village of East Fortune, East Lothian, not far from Edinburgh. A significant military airfield in both world wars, this site is protected as a historic monument and witnessed the record braking east-west transatlantic flight of the R34 Airship in July 1919.

Visitors can marvel at the collection of early inventions in the world of aviation, designed by pioneers of the early 20th Century. A classic showpiece is the famous Wright Brothers' Model A biplane, developed to full-size in later years.

Comprising 4 hangars, the Museum of Flight invites visitors to take advantage of Britain's largest aviation collection, which includes aircraft, engines, rockets, models, instruments, flying clothing, photographs, an archive collection and reference library. The cutting-edge designs used in naval and military aircraft can all be enjoyed in Hangar 1, where the museum's military collection is on display.

Hangars 2 and 3 boast an impressive combination of passenger and pleasure aircraft where you can catch a glimpse of the first passenger planes. Standing majestically outside Hanger 2 is the Comet 4c, the world's first passenger plane of the jet age. Take a preview of the museum's special collection in Hanger 3 and uncover Scotland's significant contribution to the world of aviation.

The undoubted jewel in the Museum of Flight's crown is unveiled in Hanger 4, the Concorde Experience, housing the first commercial concord in the British Airways fleet. Get up close and admire the design of this remarkable aircraft. Visitors can choose to step on board Concorde and walk in the footsteps of those high fliers and celebrities who flew on it until the retiring of the fleet in 1999. Please not that On-Tours must be pre-booked prior to arrival.

The Museum of Flight is managed by the Royal Museums of Scotland and a reasonable entrance fee is charged.
