| Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney Cheers Captain for the encourgaement. Mine is not as bad as your, I hope that they are able to slow it down and stop it from becoming worse...Im on methotrexate & sulfasalazine, steroids, and a couple of others..omeparozole, folic acid. Im sure to understand when I say, sometimes I think I rattle..LOL. 18 months ago..I used to think I was quite heathly..riding 100+ miles a week to and throu to work, vegatarian (have been for 15 years)..yet here I am. I wish you all the best as well, I hope things improve for you. Good Luck!. Anyway..lets not dwel...life goes on..we do our best. As regards my idea for my website of createing a page with photos of Blue Nosed P-51's and pictures of the original aircarft, I'm sure Sam Sox would help me out with photos of the original P-51's, but I am hoping those of you who have taken photo's at airshows of Blue Nosed P-51's will allow me to show them on my site..I will of course give credit to those who contribute with photo's. I idea will be to give visitors an idea of what the original aircarft will look like if they were here today. Plus maybe info on pilots an victories scored etc. All idea's welcome. | |||||||||||||

| Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney As you say, CRIPES_A_MIGHTY, lets not dwell on it, but thank you also for the nice thoughts. I am actually doing quite well, what with all the replaced parts, and am also on Enbrel injections, which have done me a world of good! | |||||||||||||

| Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney Shuckssss!....thank you duxford...(blushes). Though I am mad for anything 352nd..or P-51'ish... I still love all things WW2. In the sence of interest, to try to understand..what it was all about, and why?. Especially the aviation side of things. Problem is..I have a brain like a seive. No matter how much I read and see, I have forgotten most of it by the end of the day..lol. Thats why I LOVE..books. To help me remember & for reference. I guess no one can know everything, all of the time. Its one of the reasons I tend to focus on just one thing, the 352nd. Even then, you can't know it all. Some-one, somewhere, will always know something about your favourite subject, even you didn't know. Thats why sites like this one allow others to share and increase their knowledge on subjects they enjoy. Though I must admit..I like putting folks straight when it comes to anything to do with the 352nd..LOL but if I feel they have it wrong, then i want them to know the truth. Like we ALL do...we all want to be as accurate and factual with our knowlwedge as we can. It helps us understand things better, and appreciate MORE..what those before us did, for our today. Example..last night flicking round the net, I came across an essay on Chuck Yeager ( for some reason I find him annoying, being honest). In the factual section of his "achivements" it said he was the "first ace in a day".(we talking 8th AF). This I know is not true. Reason being, that honour goes to 1st/Lt Carl Luksic. How do I know?.....Well he is ( or was ) a pliot of the 352nd FG...Soooo...I had to put this right. I posted off an e-mail to said essay writer to correct him on his mistake. For all I know, Yeager may have been the 1st "ace in a day" in his own unit, but NOT the 8th AF. I'm always very keen to correct anyone's own knowledge regarding anything that may degrade anything the 352nd FG have claim to. To most they are no different from any other unit in WW2..and yes to an extent..I agree....ALL those who fought have equal right to be remembered. BUT to me, my interest in Major. Preddy, his brother 1st/Lt. William Preddy & the 352nd FG, is MY way of showing my appreciation for those who took part in the struggle for freedom. And as such, I want folks to know of them, and their feats..and for it to be true. Anything that degrades that..I want to correct. My site is the manifestation of that. I want it to be as accurate and true as possible. This seems somewhat very odd, because I am English, and surely I should have choosen a British pilot or unit. Maybe..yes. But thats not how it happened. As I point out on the intro page of my site. It was the story of Major. Preddy's demise that changed my then child like attitude to the truth about war. The war was real, not just the actors trying to be cool on tv. REAL people REALLY died. Ohhhh...nnooo.. Im on my soap box again..lol..I do rant on don't I. I guess you now understand where I am coming from. Anway..where were we?. That's right.... Nice pictures duxford...they yours?..if so, I'd like to use them on my site, with your permission, once I get round to getting this new page idea up and running. I have a few pictures of the P-51C "Princes Elizabeth"..of course not the real one. I took at the Duxford Flying Legends airshow here in UK. Plus some of P-51D "Miss Helen"..incase you did not know..is a VERY special P-51. She is THE actual "Miss Helen", which was flown by Capt. Raymond Littge of the 352nd during WW2. At lease some of her is...I do beleive the wings are from another P-51, as her original wings were beyond recovery. But to all intense purposes, she is "Miss Helen". Other than that we don't see any other Blue Nosed P51s here..hence the call for pictures from our buddiess over the pond. You have so many more 51's in the colours of the 352nd. Plus I want to make sure I don't step on anyone toes regarding copy right. So the more the merry as regards Blue 51's Cheers Folks, & Blueskies! | |||||||||||||

| Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney: My Update Well, Patty Ann arrived, but she sits awaiting to be put together: Eagles International. Then I bought the Bennet Sharkmouth from FOV at Target. I know, I know, but who else has that livery? I am not very good with the asetone, though I do have the decals from Eagle. So my "Preddy" is a conglomerate from Target: HO*P... AAARGH! I know this send chills through the spine of our friend in Scotland. But better something than nothing. (I do have the correct marking on my little Corgi PE*P.) So, I will have the chance to assemble an Eagles/EI. I hope it is worth it. From the pictures posted, it looks goo. Blue Skies. Duxford Mustang Lover P-51*LVR | |||||||||||||

| Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney On the subject of the 352nd, At long last I bagged a Corgi Petie 2nd off ebay for only £10 including shipping. OK I know its a Corgi model but I can live with that, well maybe not that dreadful pilot figure! I think I may have to remove that offending item and display the plane wheels down and on the ground. | |||||||||||||
