Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney

To me? OUTSTANDING.

Could not agree more. A fantastic book and made all the better because of the autographs I received from some of the Blue-Nosers themselves, from Crew Chiefs to Pilots.

I'll third that motion. Haven't read the book yet, but I just KNOW I'm going to love it, and with the added signatures.........priceless!

Hi All,

I also have all of the books and DVD's you have Starman.
Plus , I'm lucky enough to also have an original copy of the Preddy book "Wings God Gave My Soul" printed in 1974.
The reason for this post is to let you all know of a new 352FG book, incase you did not know, that has resently been released.
It's called "BlueNoser Tales".

Im sure you'll understand that this will sell fast...so if you would like a copy, get 1 soon.!

Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney

Thanks for the Welcome Guys.
I am a very keen Blue Noser!..
Not sure I posted my website...incase your interested.

Major. George Earl Preddy Jr,352FG. & 1st/Lt. William Rhodes Preddy,339FG.

Please take a look and tell me what you think.

On the Intro page is a nice quote from an e-mail Sam Sox sent me regarding the markings
used by AIRFIX for it 1974 model of Major.Preddys last P-51, which got me interested in the Major & 352ndFG.

Enjoy!

Wow....Now that model is a blast from the past...I had that model when i was younger...Back then i didn't know it at the time that the nose art is wrong on it.
I really would like to see a die-cast company make his last P-51D "Cripes A Mighty" PE & P in 1:32 or 1:48..That P-51D is so long overdue I have all his HO & P Mustangs...

Hi C.A.M. better a 'Blue' noser than 'brown'

Glad you posted the 'old' Airfix box !!!!!

I've still got that exact same one (somewhere in amongst others), unmade !

Bought it from a newsagent in Dagenham, Essex at the turn of the '80's & never made it !
Kept it, along with my somewhat rarer P.80 Shooting Star !!!!!!!!! (they literally both cost peanuts !")

Ironic, as it's regarded as the 'newer' Airfix Mustang - the previous incarnation, was the plastic-bag & paper instructions (w/staples) Series 1 model, that carried the markings 'AJ*A' - "Fool's Paradise IV" which was operated by the 9th A.F.

Shows how 'times have changed', when they're placed next to a current-day kit, like Tamiya's P.51

Re: BNBB: Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney

Hi Hornchurch,

Yes, I too have the very same model..unmade..Infact..I think I may have 2-3 of the same one knocking around.
I do have a collection of Blue Nosed models..all unmade except one..It's a model of Bob Powells P-51B
which was lost when Bob crashed on take-off. Luckly, Bob survived.

I did not build this model.

I also have an AIRFIX box cover of the Preddy model, which I assume AIRFIX brought out at a later date.
But still with the wrong markings.

But this is the kit a want REAL BAD!!

I have seen a very small number of these...but have not purchased it as I want one thats as close to perfect as possible.
(box wise).
