New H & C Book: Focke Wulf FW-190

I received the newest Histoire & Collections book in their Planes and Pilots series. #9 is about the Butcher Bird and, imho, it is the best yet. Nice history with numerous photos and a ton of color profiles. Two thumbs up!

Btw, I would have posted this in the books and magazines section but, for some reason, there does not appear to be way to post a new thread. Can anyone enlighten me?

We were discussing this book in the Multimedia Gallery but it does probably belong in the books and magazines.

The series of illustrated books from Histoire & Collections :Planes and Pilots series are just the "bee's knees", as our illustrious friend Gort puts it. The real beauty of the entire series
apty de-mystifies the different variants & configuration for each particular variant so graphifically, and you also get a set of different liveries/schemes from different squadrons in all theater of operations.
OC, it seems the section you refer too is probably for admins use only, and the rest of us don't have posting priviledge there.

Re: New H & C Book: Focke Wulf FW-190

My FW-190 book came in the mail today from a order I put in with Walmart back around Christmas. Now I will have 2 copies as I ordered the "combo" deal with the FW-190 & Hurricane book from Amazon.com over a week ago with free-shipping. Guess I will just sell the one that comes in from Amazon. As for the FW-190 book, I am pleased, as I already have both volumes of the ME-109 as well as the Ju-87 Stuka book by them. Want to add the P-40 book. Love all the schemes and info, though they need alittle more better editing as their english grammer and spelling is not perfect. Great books overall and would love to see a He-111, ME-262, JU-88, ME-110, Spitfire. Zero and a few other issues.

Re: New H & C Book: Focke Wulf FW-190

I placed an order for the HC Planes & Pilots Hurricane book at Amazon last Feb/March, but they have already cancelled my order for this book. Apparently, this book will not be released till late Fall 2007. Anybody else who ordered got their cancellation notice? Thanks.

I think I saw in the back of the Fw-190 book, that it isn't scheduled to be released until October..

Yes, same here. Just got the email today. The Hurricane book is due to be sent out by the end of September.

Besides being a handy reference guide to the various variants and airframes, these books are exceptionaly loaded with detailed color plates of the various schemes, squadrons, foreign nation operators, technical data drawings etc, and then some. These books are highly recommend for all you military aviation enthusiasts and buffs alike. Your library shouldn't be without these books, imo. Amazon.com has the best deals I've noticed so far to order these books from. I also receive discount coupons up to 30% Off from Borders.com from time to time so that helps alot as well.
