Re: Movies and models and bouncing bombs!

That means he's gonna screw it up, just as he did the Lord of the Rings (if you haven't read the books, I will not accept your opinion on the movies, if you did, you know he screwed it up) and King Kong was awful. Let's hope he's learned something.

Let's hope not.....after all he's producing, not directing!

True, so there is hope.

Sorry if that offended you Card, but I'm a huge fan of Tolkien and he did not do it justice leaving out multiple key parts, characters, making Aragorn a poetry reading whiner, elaborating on a love story that only got a few pages from Tolkien in the appendices, and a wretched ending (no scourging of the Shire by Sharkey aka Saruman). But since this is not a sci-fi, LOTR forum, I will make no further comment on that as it would be getting away from the original intent of this thread.

Fair enough and we're all titled to our own opinions after all . I just believe that Peter Jackson did deliver the 'intent' of Tolkien's work within the commercial and 'artistic' constraints that tend to govern Hollywood .

I do think (read hope) that the Dambusters movie will be a tour de force that reflects the historical significance of the event and participants involved...

For what it's worth Brunowbe, I wasn't overly offended - just being 'cranky' I guess .

He'd better, or I'll send my Dragons out to get him ( not Smaug though! )
