Re: Movies and models and bouncing bombs!

Nothing new news to share, but just the dated link I saw from another forum I frequent from....

I'll scour the net for more later.

Re: Movies and models and bouncing bombs!

Cheers, FlyXwire,

it's good to net! I guess we'll have to wait until next summer to see the movie. I can hardly wait.

I'll resurrect the debate which started earlier in the thread!

What will they call Guy Gibson's dog?

so far, we've had suggestions of:
  • " Digger "
  • a Spit flies over every time Gibbie calls the dog and drowns out the name
  • Spot
  • Towser
  • Killer
  • et al ......
What's your bet?

Re: Movies and models and bouncing bombs!

Hi folks,

What's the latest news on the new " Dambusters" movie? I read in the "TIMES" today that Peter Jackson had just got kicked out of the production of " The Hobbit" for wanting more of the profits from the spin-off toys from his " Lord of the Bores" trilogy.

MoMo

Not to go off topic, but that's not the reason PJ isn't doing The Hobbit. There is a dispute between New Line and Wingnut Productions (PJ's production company) about accounting practices. New Line wouldn't let PJ direct until he paid them what they thought was fair; PJ wanted the matter arbitrated by a 3rd party. New Line wanted to tie production rights to The Hobbit to resolution of the dispute. Since PJ wouldn't play their game, they told him his services wouldn't be required.

More on topic, PJ is the producer of Dambusters, not the director. Should be interesting to see how it turns out...

Angry Re: Movies and models and bouncing bombs!

Yeahhhh,

but will the all the crews be called : Glowin, Dowin, Wowin or Crowin ?

Perhaps that's why the British government kept the secret of the exact details of the bouncing bomb so long. The aircrews were recruited from Middle Earth, consisted of small men with big feet and strange names, and who also had shiny teeth and fresh breath which exuded a ring of confidence!

Just keep the production moving Peter...even if your in a huff with yer mates!

I ain't much and don't really care for "Political Correctness" and I am an independent conservative!

However, if the producers does insist on getting historical accuracy right, then they should insist on using the "N" word...then that's that! Your political opinion may vary.

Re: Movies and models and bouncing bombs!

Dear FlyXwire,

I empathise with your die-hard attitude towards P.C.ness.

I also hate revisionist historians ( see me venting my spleen on the 'Who Won the Battle of Britain' thread ) because they annoy the s--t out of me and are, really, really, dangerous. I believe that most of them are the spawn of a coupling between Satan and David Irving and have intentions which range from getting a little TV exposure for their latest, dubious opus to reviving the Nazi Party and invading Poland.

However, get real!

There is no way on God's Earth that the N word will ever manifest in that film. And quite right too. It is only a small change, but one which will redress the hurt feelings which the repeated showings of 'The Dambusters' must have caused over the years in many people.

There has to be a bit of give and take.

What's the feeling out there?

I'm for real! "%$$@! PC and boo-F..ing boo if they can't/won't get it!"

Look, I'm no racist pig, but I think a lot of these revisionist left-wing nutjobs are what's making this whole political correctness crap to such ridiculous mediocrity, and it ain't funny anymore!
