I happened to take a gander at a 2007 Osprey catalogue and noticed a new series of books entitled Duels. The series intends to explore the "design, development and deployment of various opposing weapons systems with an emphasis on how the weapons performed against one another on the battlefield.

I have not located any images online and have not had time to scan any images from the catalogue but here is a rundown of the first books planned for this series, due out in October 2007. I think retail price is $17.95.

I believe I saw the "Duel 1" book on Amazon - w/ image - a month or so ago as a pre-order - looked very interesting. Look for it on Amazon. I'm sure that's where I saw it. (I don't think I can post a link here because its not in the commercial section - or I'd look and post the link myself.)

I am interested in the P51 V Fw190 book. The P51 hacked down Fw190's at a remarkable rate. Be interesting to see how much this was due to better equipment and how much due to better pilots.

Firefly V Tiger will also be interesting. I always think of the Tiger 1 as outdated by June 1944.
