So I am buying an AT-6.......

I found a T-6 that was deserted at a small general aviation airport. I talked to the airport manager, and he told me that the man that owned it passed away, and that th eairport comission told him that he could sell it. He tried to sell it, no one bit. So he was going to sell it for scrap. He told me that if I could match the scrap price, I could have it. I was easily able to match it, so I am in the process of getting a lawyer to get it. My friend owns a trucking out fit, so the move will not be costly at all. I will post pics as soon as I can. It doesn;t have an Nnumber, and I am waiting to get it's data plate number. My wife thinks I am nuts.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Just couldn't wait for the Eagles International or HobbyMaster version huh?

That's pretty cool though. Good luck with your endeavour...

Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

It is going to be stored at the Allegheny County Airport (KAGC). That is where I work, and where my buddy keeps his airplanes. He has enough room for my Texan in his hangar. It will be several years before it flies again, but atleast I have it.

Congratulations mustangdriver, so you will have a few hours in the hangar during the next few years. And you are going to love that time. Looking forward to seeing pictures of it

That’s great,
It's kind of like those stories of finding a classic car in an abandon barn.
