Yeah, any new updates MD? And, Starman, you have Mustang (read this at the beginning of the thread)? I didn't know that, not to hijack MD's thread, but you got any pics and how long have you had it?

Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

I am going through everythign with a lawyer right now. It looks like this is a go. I just wn ated to make sure it was on the up and up before I put some money in to it. The way it is going to work, I am going to have the aircraft put in to a flyable condition, ferry it back to Pittsburgh, adn then carry out the restoration. She is in a hangar right now.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Allow me to add my voice to the chorus of congratulations, and thanks, for saving a piece of aviation history. Good luck!

Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

She is now at the Rostraver airport near Pittsburgh, PA The move took place over the weekend on a truck since the FAA would not gran t me a Ferry permit. She is in a hangar and I have already sat in the cockpit anf took it for a pretend flight.

Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

WOW, the great thing is that you saved the plane from the scrap man.

Well done M.D.

You deserve maximum credit for that alone !!!

Those things are worth a LOT of money over here in the U.K. so even if she just sat in a hangar & never turned a wheel, you'd be on to a winner.

Love the picture, SHE looks way nice.

Looking forward to finding out it's history in future times.

Insurance is the killer over here, so I guess any plans of return to flight will have to cross that hurdle, invariably.

Either way, you made the right move.

Congrat's MD. I am extremely jealous.

Why did the FAA turn you down?

Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

Due tio the AD that is out on the wingspar. No big deal. We had to do it in a hurry as someone wanted to use the hangar the airport was letting me keep it in until I could get it moved. She is now safe in the hangar at home, and out of the elements.
