Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

THe cockpit is complete. There is some corrosion in the tail, not a lot, but enough to need some care. The wing spar A.D. has not been done. The engine will need sent out, as well as the prop. But at least it is all there.

What's your time frame to have it airborn by ?
Of all the things you said so far it's pretty much all there.
That's great because parts are so darn hard to find too.
Who will be doing your engine ?

Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

The AT 6 looks great! What a buy you made! And rides, you say? I'm right next door to Pittsburg......Better yet, I could meet you at the Air Force Museum, assuming they'd let you fly it in there. Imagine, a ride in a friends restored AT 6, tour the museum...sounds like a great day!

Re: So I am buying an AT-6.......

Well that does sound like fun. They won't let me land there, but I land at Wright Brothers field(not too far away). As for the engine and prop-I am not sure who to send it to yet. I was thinking of Fighter Rebuilders. I will have to see. I was thinking a polished(highly) metal with the tuskegee markings on it. The are pretty plain, just at black TU on the side with the las three of the serial number. That is of course once I get the history of this aircraft. Depending on it's history I might put it in it's original markings.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

The orig marking are sometimes better for the trainers.
Can you see any old marking on the plane ? or has it all been taken off and polished over.
Once you get the plane flying they are really easy to fly.

WOW, the great thing is that you saved the plane from the scrap man.
