Re: I didn't know that eBay did this...

Good point, Mapleflag.

There seems to be a clear policy emerging : if the swastika is on an article as a symbol of the state, then this is ok. If the symbol is on a machine, or model of a machine, then it's taboo.

None of this makes any sense at all.

Re: I didn't know that eBay did this...

On my personal ebay account not as thetoyfederation I put yellow smiley faces over all the swazis when I sold the DX06 Boesch Diecast Me109 & Fw190. I had included an added bonus of the brochure for Robert Baileys' painting "Wake Up Call" which featured Boeschs' aircraft during Operation Bodenplatte. With the smiley faces covering up the offending symbols I had no problem.

Whew ... I had no idea that eBay was in the political correctness biz. I’m amazed that these self-righteous dolts have the effrontery and bald arrogance to yank innocent auctions off their boards.

I wonder if they wrench Soviet hammer & sickle emblems off their precious site, too. Or red-Chinese symbols. Or any two-bit dictator insignia. I mean, if they’re going to be correct about things, they might as well sanitize every and anything that ever offended mankind.

Love the idea of photoshopping swastikas off models.

Hey Gort, ya missed one, I'm surprised they haven't banned the Confederate flag for political correctness.

The Confederate flag would be more appropriate if used to advertise Viagra considering its implication that "the South will rise again" ... .

Well, they do it here all the time...

If you list a "historical correct" airplane model or else be sure to cover the swastika.

One could get into quite some legal hassle inculding getting your home searched by the police if you are "too" fond of the past.

Re: I didn't know that eBay did this...

That truly saddens me. I realize why eBay is nervous about trafficking in "Nazi Paraphenalia", but no one seems to worry about how stupid we are getting culturally when we do something like this.

Ebay also has as 'tizzy', if you list any Klu Klux Klan (KKK-for you folks in different countries) items, they will pull your actions and in turn you will get a 'nasty gram' also, just like the items with the Swazis. It is so silly as here in the USA. Back in the Teens, 1920's and even to the early 1930's, various groups issued tokens with a large Swazi on the front....ie "GOOD FELLOWS CLUB" etc.
Alot of collecters also collect the KKK medals of the 1920's, since almost 6 million folks where in the KKK back in 1920 alone! The various klans issued tokens similar to those of the Masons (Masonic). But eBay allows items relating to slaves, ie. Slave Ownership papers, etc. Since there is money in items relating to slaves. It is censorship by the PC folks at their finest.
Censor out the swazi on your WWII Stuka, BF-109, 110 etc. so little eyes or the PC reglious right, Jewish community, Mad Mothers Against Tail Swazis (MMATS), etc won't be offended. Just because we like our WWII planes that are accurate, not even think about putting a tail swazi on the tail of that plane! Or you will become a Nazi yourself and go towards the Dark Side....so the idiots believe.
