Re: 1/48 scale IL2 Sturmovik

It's a space race. There are many models I would prefer in 1:48 scale other than the IL2. So as my vote indicates, it's no.

Re: 1/48 scale IL2 Sturmovik

I don't know if I would buy one or not, but, as the old saying goes.... "If you build it they will come".. I am sure that many of these folks that voted for 1/72 would buy the 1/48 version if it were available (and nice enough)..

Re: 1/48 scale IL2 Sturmovik

The Sturmovik was a very important aircraft in WWII. It had a makor impact on the Eastern Front battlefield. For me, that's more than good enough to want one (plus a few other Russian planes...) in my collection. I don't go by sheer beauty alone.

1/48, please. Jim put it pretty well...

FVD

The IL-2 was one of the most important aircraft in history, both from a military point of view as well as the fact that it was made in more numbers than any other aircraft of its type - EVER! It is a shame that so little consideration is given to understanding that which occurred on the Eastern Front in WWII, as many of the other significant theatres were relatively small (in scale, not necessarily importance) in comparison ...

A good quality 1/48 scale IL-2 is a must in my opinion ...

Put me down for one, or two, or three, maybe more. Perferrably from Eagles, that is if it doesn't take 3 years in the making. Carousel would be alright also.

Re: 1/48 scale IL2 Sturmovik

I love the IL 2 but a I would not know where to put a 1/48 version of it.
If it was in 1/72 I would buy one right away.

I love Polikarpov

Re: 1/48 scale IL2 Sturmovik

Given the discussion on other threads regarding the need for good quality Soviet 1/48 scale aircraft, I'm posting a poll on whether or not you would buy a die-cast version of the iconic IL2 Sturmovik (in 1/48).

Hopefully, some manufacturers such as Hobby Master, Carousel 1, Franklin Mint and Eagles International may take some notice ...

I would like a 1/48 HM IL2 and love a 1/72 version!

Re: 1/48 scale IL2 Sturmovik

I love the idea. I think that 1:48 scale is the best for aircraft models. It's big enough to put a lot of detail into, but no so big that it's burdensome like 1:32. I understand those collecting only 1:72 because of it's display ability, but If I have a choice I say make it 1:48. It just has so much more potential for detail.

I voted yes. I am a 1/48th scale first guy.
