Re: Tomcat variations

At risk of being censured in light of other threads , or worse, exposing my utter ignorance , could someone point me in the direction of a website that graphically illustrates, perhaps by line drawings, the primary visual differences between the various F-14 variants?

Huh?

Re: Tomcat variations

Huh?

Just a little (obviously very little) levity in reference to threads with sometimes testy exchanges about accuracy.

Re: Tomcat variations

David I'd love to see what you could do for F-4's and F-8's. The Tomcat as well, though, I can follow most of what you say about the f-14's because I'm a big fan of them too, but, you can never have too much info

Re: Tomcat variations

how about payload options? The CW 'Cat comes with a handy little guide of how the weapons are positioned, but it doesn't come with descriptions of what role those configurations would be for (SEAD, recon, etc.). Is there a reference out there of common weapons loads for the Tomcat?

Re: Tomcat variations

F-4 variations? Can't think of any site. 5053phantoms is THE site for pics though. http://www.5053phantoms.com/

The Domain "www.5053phantoms.com" is not available

Re: Tomcat variations

If you want F-14 information go to (www.anft.net/f-14) >>

If you want to buy a book on the Tomcat look at the reference list at (http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-book.htm)

I have most of the books on the list however some of the best for detail are listed below.
“In detail & scale”
“colors & markings”
“walk around”
“in action”
“Osprey”
“Janes How To Fly The F-14 Tomcat”
“Tomcat Alley” by David F. Brown
”Tomcat! The Grumman F-14 Story” by Rear Admiral Paul T. Gillcrist, USN (Retired)
