Best Ju-87??

For those Ju-87 buffs and collectors out there I have a question. Who makes the best 1/72 Ju-87 out there?

Corgi
HM
Dragon
Corgi Predator (really HM, I know but with swazi's)
IXO

I was thinking of picking one up and wanted to know if there is a stand out model (most rivets, best detail) or are they all pretty much the same and it comes down to personal preference.

Re: Best Ju-87??

It depends on "which" Ju-87 you want.. Corgi makes the Early "B" model while Dragon/Hobby Master/IXO makes the later D-G versions..

Overall, I think Corgi makes the best Stuka as it is one of their best molds ever..

I'd have to agree.

OK which is the best corgi stuka??

I really fancy the snake one and have a bead on one at a reasonable price. Just a general feeling of poverty holding me back.

Thumbs up Re: Best Ju-87??

If you care about packaging and reading about the plane and pilot as well as getting a really well done replica, the new Predators Corgi is hard to beat. I just got the 1st three predators yesterday and man oh man are they nicely done and really nice packaging. Lots of info to read about the Pilot and Plane right with the model. I got mine off a dealer on Ebay, All three shipped to my door were under 100.00, not a bad deal in my book.

The BoB ones are nice, but I REALLY like the desert versions (Except all yellow one).. Here are my 3 favorites..

Re: Best Ju-87??

I have three of the desert versions (not the "Old Yeller" model) and love them all. However, I just received the snake version a couple of weeks ago during the Perry's Aircraft sale and that one has become my all-time favorite!

It has a unique load-out from the other Corgi Ju-87s that I have seen (two external fuel tanks on the wings). It also appears to have had fantastic paint and detail work done. Whatever assembly line did these must now be doing the Swordfish.

If I could only keep one Ju-87 from my collection it would be the snake.

Re: Best Ju-87??

The 'snake' is a worthy addition to any collection. One that should not be overlooked is the Russian Front version which is great in the flesh and conveys the desperation of this theatre with the hastily applied distemper.
The Dragon tankbuster is excellent if only it had a pilot and gunner. PWC, PWC
