Re: Best Ju-87??

In 1/48 I tend to like the Franklin Mint 'Wasser' version best (MTO) - very good camo. scheme .

Smile Re: Best Ju-87??

In 1/72 I fancy the Corgis. I have the Immelmann and Eastern Front ones. I wouldn't mind the Libyan one though, very cool. I also got the Rudel Dragon because I liked the different nose profile, canopy and especially the increased wingspan. How they could leave the undercarriage off I don't know.

Re: Best Ju-87??

I have and love all the Corgi Stukas. My favorite would be the Snake one. I also have all the HM's as well as Dragons.

Re: Best Ju-87??

I have 8 FM stuka's and until recently I purchased a few Corgi's stuka's and was most impressed. So much so, that I'll start collecting the corgi models and give up on the FM ones altogether. Let me say that for every FM stuka model I have, I had to exchange it atleast once due to bad seams, mold issues or paint scratches. These corgi ones were just perfect and I'm very picky.

The hell with FM!

Re: Best Ju-87??

I normally give the nod to Dragon for a more detailed/realistic look, when compared to Corgi. That said, none of Dragon's Ju-87 schemes really appealed to me (sorry, Rudel, you flew boring aircraft), so I went with Corgi's Legends/History Channel AA32508 Ju-87R. (I know it's reviled by many on the Fourm for its yellow filter, but it doesn't really bother me, and I really like the Hans Huckebein nose art.) I'm glad I went with Corgi -- having now seen Dragon and HM Stukas up close and personal, I still prefer the Corgi. Yes, the Dragon and HM offerings may be more detailed, but the Corgi Ju-87 just looks more like a Stuka oughtta, IMHO.

Re: Best Ju-87??

I agree with those who rate Corgi's JU-87B highly, however the omission of the pitot head bothered me greatly. A simple hole drilled in a wing was all that was needed, but Corgi saved this small step on a number if its fighter planes-- the P-40, F4U and Zero come immediately to mind-- and did the same with its Stuka. As for later models, I like Hobby Master's in preference to Dragon's product. Don't even consider the IXO Stuka, unless you like badly fitting parts and greatly overdone panel lines.

Re: Best Ju-87??

Yup I had to buy a couple of Corgis Stukas, my P40s need feeding in the mornings. (reference to P40s decimating Stukas in MTO).

I have 12 Stukas. That evil and and addictive plane. 7 are Corgis. (Lov'em all) including 'Ole Yeller. 3 are 1:100 Armour models (nice) wont ever part with 'em)

2: 1:48 Franklins 'Ole Yeller and Rudel', and 1 HM Tank Buster' Ukraine'. I would buy more. As good book says 'That would be yielding to temptation'.

+ + Times over. AAAAAAAAAAAmen.
