Despite wanting just about every model I see, personal budget and display constraints have limited my diecast collecting to about 50-60 planes so far. I usually limit my purchases to personal must haves and then wait for my favorite one or two schemes before I buy.
With all the new players and offerings in the marketplace, I have actually SLOWED DOWN my purchasing. My rationale is that I can be more discerning in my purchases and wait for my favorite schemes. Take the MiG-21 for example. I am real tempted by the Soviet SMT release (and the NVAF) but its not exactly what I want. I figure that I can wait a bit and see if anything better gets released (or announced) to decide which one I want. Same goes for the F-104 and the F6F. True , there is an element of risk that a current release will sell out but that's a chance I have to take (and I still see plenty of SBD's out there after getting sucked in early).
Still, if I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd clear out a few online stores!
