Re: Cool Scheme of the Week

Hey guys and gals, just a thought here, what if each week, someone posts a favorite paint scheme of aircraft...don't want to get into a space issue with this (too many photos), so any input from the admins is welcome, just thought it would be nice resource...we could even delete the old pic each week if it gets to be too much and start new each time....anyway, I'll start it off and see if it "flys"...

Here's mine...would like to see someone do this scheme... (FW 190 A-6 W.Nr 550 476 'White 11 + ' of Lt. Georg Schott of 1./J.G. 1, September 1943)

Great thread Easy8! Funny that you started with this Schott Fw190. I have relatives by the same name and considered painting a spare Dragon model in the scheme some time ago. Maybe I should get on that....

Re: Cool Scheme of the Week

This would be a good "B" model scheme. I know that some don't like the racers, but I do.

Re: Cool Scheme of the Week

I love racers. I think that they are an important part of aviation history. Some of the best pilots in history were race pilots. Just remember that prior to WWII, racers were often times better than what the military had. The Bell P-39 was basically a racer converted to a fighter.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I like the looks of this FW-190D...something a little different...like the blue spinner...

If I may be permitted to inject my two cents. It's already been done by The Franklin Mint, and it's one of my favorites. Let's see it in 1:72!

I love YIPPEE! A friend of mine made a 1/48th model of it in High School.
