Re: Cool Scheme of the Week

This is one of my favorite Soviet Paint Schemes that will never see a light of day due to the tooling absence:

Georgiy Kostylev despite being 13-ranking VVS ace with 43 individual and 3 group kills spent his war fighting against the best Luftwaffe had to offer being known as the scourge of Grunherz among his comrades.

Regards,

Sergey

Yep, La-5. If anyone is interested in exploits of VVS during WWII, Osprey published three objective books on this subject full of good looking paint schemes and brief history:

Soviet Aces of World War 2 (Osprey Aircraft of the Aces #15)

LaGG and Lavochkin Aces of World War II (Osprey Aircraft of the Aces #56)

Yakovlev Aces of World War II (Osprey Aircraft of the Aces #64)

Sergey

Re: Cool Scheme of the Week

IXO is the best bet to make the La-5.

Re: Cool Scheme of the Week

Excellent choice Sergey - probably the best scheme on any of the Lavochkin's!
