You can always rely on George Patton.

"There is one great thing that you men will all be able to say after this war is over and you are home once again. You may be thankful that twenty years from now when you are sitting by the fireplace with your grandson on your knee and he asks you what you did in the great World War II, you WON'T have to cough, shift him to the other knee and say, "Well, your Granddaddy shoveled 5h!+ in Louisiana." No, Sir, you can look him straight in the eye and say, "Son, your Granddaddy rode with the Great Third Army and a Son-of-a-Godd@mned-B!+ch named Georgie Patton!"

Re: You can always rely on George Patton.

Very nice Admin!! George is my hero and if I had one of his books here I would add a few quotes myself.

A few of my favorites are:

"We are going to grab 'em by the nose and kick 'em in the a*$!!"

also

"We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose."

and last but not least

"Were not just going to shoot the bastards, were going to cut out their living guts and use them to grease the treads on our tanks."

God Bless America!!

"We are poor little lambs, who have lost our way!! Baaaa, baaaa, baaaa!!"

Those are some of my favorites. They were also used in the movie "Patton", one of my favorite movies of all time.

Here's one you don't ever here that I like. He had a lot of "Maxims" though. The book "War as I Knew It" is great.

"Wars may be fought by weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of the men who follow and the man who leads that gains victory." - General George S. Patton, Jr.

Great quote PN, that is one of my favs, I actually use part of it in my signature on another forum...even though Patton had his ups and downs, he is my fav allied general...I loved his aggressive style, and his passion for war just amazes me!

Some of my favorites are:

" A dead man does not have any ego"
" Any man who thinks he is indispensable ain't"
" Select leaders for accomplishment, not for affection"
" Protect the troops first! The wishes of superior officers are secondary"
" Noone is thinking if everyone is thinking alike"
" Know what you know, and know what you don't know"
" An 80% solution now, is better than 100% too late"
" Too much if'n, perhaps'n and maybe'n will never win a battle"
" Success is how you bounce when you hit bottom"

My favorite, also from the movie Patton:

Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

I love it. Best quote I've heard in a bit.
