Re: When does the long dark tea-time ofthe diecast begin for 2007?

Yes it starts in the middle of Feb sometime.
This is the part of the year i dread the most because not just planes & armor diecast get's held up for a month due the the New Year.
All the Diecast does such as Action Performace who makes the Nextel cup diecast cars.
So i hope alot of stuff gets put out in the first part of Feb... wishfull thinking..
But most likely you will see more things out in April or May.

Chinese New Year begins on 18 February 2007 - Year of the Pig I believe .

This is correct and it lasts for 15 days so it takes awhile for things to spool up again even when they return to work. So it probably means no production for 3 - 4 weeks.

Re: When does the long dark tea-time ofthe diecast begin for 2007?

Does anyone know if the factories, and shipping lines, are moving up to the 18th of February, or do they close down before that? Not that it's THAT important either way, just curious. Trying to get some sort of fix of when the wallet will get hit, what might be delayed until after tax time, etc.

Thanks for everyone who got back to me already. Hope you all had a great New Years. (At the risk of hijacking my own thread. )
