Re: Buying Plans for 2007?

Not much.... Are you kidding?
You don't want a JU-88?? What about the Bush Avenger or a Halifax? Wait, I forget, are you pretty much a PTO guy HT?

Eagles of the Reich birds? Those are great too...

Ju - 88? Not even remotely interested especially for the price. Halifax - isn't that a province in Canada? I've only got three British planes in my enter collection and that's four more than I really want. Wouldn't buy a Bush Avenger if it was the ONLY TBM model made! Don't care for the pilot nor do I like the scheme. Corgi's Yamato version atleast has interesting tail markings so I'll bite on that one. There are lots of interesting planes coming out this year parsig, but for the price - nothing screams out "BUY ME!!!"

Re: Buying Plans for 2007?

As of now i think i have about 5 or 6 on pre-order for the Corgi's.
Was going to get more but i'll wait it out to see if the price comes down a little on some of the bigger stuff.
I need to fill up my 1:48 line a little more with some Carousel,Eagles Inter and HobbyMaster planes.
May get a few GMP's in 1/35.
I need a P-61 Blackwidow in diecast badly too.
That's about it.

So $65.00 is too much for a highly detailed well done German Bomber???

Seems like a deal to me.

I am getting the 1st two, both should be under $75.00 each based on my 1st one was only $67.88, I think a good deal.

Re: Buying Plans for 2007?

All the commission models from the UK cost about $60 delivered so paying that for a bomber and not having to wait as long sits well with me. Paying for the last 2 MZ planes didn't tickle but, well, that's the game isn't it?

Re: Buying Plans for 2007?

I have a bunch of preorders in which include an A-4, S-58, pacific B-17, Tommy's dad P-51, Pudgy P-38, Bush's Avenger, and some others.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I'll get the Tommy's Dad P-51B, a Corgi or HM A-10, and any Dragon Armor Bradleys or Abrams.

What if you don't want a highly detailed German bomber? Not every collector does flaps. $65.00 is too much for a highly detailed American bomber (which is where my interests lie) which is why I cancelled my preorder for the PBY and new "Apaches" B-25. Believe or not, but I actually can live without these cash hogs in my collection.

Re: Buying Plans for 2007?

I'll cut back significantly on Corgi purchases unless I can find a reasonable price or sale. I will not pay MSRP (or close to it) unless it is really something special. That said, it looks like I will continue to prowl Ebay or watch for sales here on the Forum.

Otherwise, Dragon should be close to the same (unless their "increases" are as outlandish as Corgi's).

I have been real happy with Eagles International models and look forward to the upcoming AT-6. I will wait a bit on Carousel as I have one P-40 now that's OK, but nothing to get jazzed about.Unanswered emails to the company irks me as well so I don't know if I wish to buy additional models from them.

So for me things look close to the same with the exception of Corgi.

Re: Buying Plans for 2007?

I've got eight Corgi 1/72, 1 Corgi 1/48, and the GeminiAces Princess Elizabeth exclusive from FlyingTigers.co.uk on pre-order, so 10 total. Compared to last year that's about a quarter of what I bought. Collecting almost only WWII 1/72 stuff makes it easier to cut back, and Corgi's new pricing strategy further simplifies matters. Hopefully Dragon, HobbyMaster and Gemini will come out with some more stuff for me to buy!

Re: Buying Plans for 2007?

Presently I have a JU-88 'Crete' in the mail.Other buys are delinquents, such as the Lysander 'N.Africa'-Typhoon 'N.Africa-P-38'Olds&Bong.Fairey Swordfish pontooned And several gemini WW2 models. When the credit card cools a little. I may indulge 2007 offerings. Swoop 'n out
