I am so proud.

I never made Eagle Scout, but this will warm me all over as I make my way up the ranks.

My one son, an Army major, is training at Fort Riley, part of the new Army. He will be returning to Afghanistan in mid-January. He always talks highly of his NCO's--and this time, what they have taught him.

I tallked with him recently as he was qualifying with the .50-cal on the HUMVEE. He was never infantry until now, in the 1ID. I am proud to be an NCO. I hope they watch out for him.

God bless and good luck to your son, Duxford. I live just down the road from Ft. Riley and have gone on several rides with soldiers posted to the 1st. A good bunch of guys. My brother did his tour in Iraq attached to the 1st and had a great experience. A solid group of professional soldiers by every account he gave me.
