The Tuskegee Airmen

Hey Mates,
I just saw the HBO "The Tuskegee Airmen" movie.
What did you guys think of the movie?
I thought the movie was not bad but i also saw a P-51D cutout plane sitting on the field on the side of the runway. They must of not had Many P-51 Mustangs to make the movie with.

Re: The Tuskegee Airmen

I thought that it was pretty good. I know that there were at least three P-51's there for filming. I think that the it was well done.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: The Tuskegee Airmen

I thought the movie was excellent! At the time I saw it, I had not joined this crazy place yet so I was paying more attention to the overall movie than the accuracy of the planes. From what I know now and what I remember, I think the producers and director did very well.

Re: The Tuskegee Airmen

I thought it was pretty good. Definitley good enough for me to watch now and again.

Word was that George Lucas really wanted to do a Redtails movie, even stating so in interviews after the last star wars was out....who knows...

Re: The Tuskegee Airmen

I think it was a good movie for being a cable presentation. The cutouts are obvious and the story a bit "Hollywood" but it is very good just the same. I would love to see Lucas tackle it with his clout and skill (as long as someone else writes the dialog). The Tuskegee Airmen were an incredible and accomplished group of pilots and crew who represent what is great about American and their story needs to be shared with everyone in as many ways as possible. It won't change the mind of a racist but it will help show the average person why we are blessed as nation - everyone wants to do his/her part regardless of how they have been treated.
