Re: F-4 Phantom II

All very valid and it makes sense but what about the Brits, there's nothing new in there for them. If they made the Spey engine FG.1 and FG.2 you wouldn't buy one?

No. Although interesting, I collect on a budget so I limit my purchases to personal must haves - this is not one. There are plenty of other aircraft I'd be buying first. I suspect I would not be alone in my opinion.

Corgi does a good job of servicing the UK market with UK-centric aircraft. If Corgi passed on the F-4K/M, I suspect they didn't think there would be much of a market for the variant outside the UK.

HM's magic formula for success so far seems to be to put out high quality models, pick unique models (i.e. whitespace where Corgi/Dragon are not), and maximize variant potential. I see the F-4E/F/G as meeting those criteria better than a F-4K/M casting.

Now if they plan on doing both, I am all for it!

Re: F-4 Phantom II

Sure will do. I have the FM Olds F-4 (same one on display in the usaf museum), and I think it is pretty nice.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I hope that wasn't my "Showtime 100" you latched onto, Starman...or else there would be hell to pay!

I finally gave in and got one too, coz' I can't wait forever for HM to make one. Instant gratification is my name.

Re: F-4 Phantom II

I don't know why the Mule told Mustangdriver that he got the "last" Showtime 100...This is not a retired item and it seems to be available everywhere......hmmmmmmmm...

Re: F-4 Phantom II

I don't think it was the last one ever, just the last one they had on hand or something.

Re: F-4 Phantom II

All of the new owners of FM Showtime 100's will have to report on their option of the gloss black nose; it was the reason why I did not get one back when I was still collecting 1/48's.

You know i have notice the same thing.
I did a check on some of them and there seems to be a few with semi-glossy nose cones on the Showtime 100 and a few others. Art/Model profiles.
Alot of them just had the grey nose cone as well.
