I would have to say for this year, Gemini Aces takes the lead, followed by Hobby Master...

1. GA P-51B Bald Eagle (so far, although I have a feeling Ding Hao! will be my new fav)

Ok, well I've probably bought more models this year than I can track, but I'll go with those I can recall. No particular order...



Corgi BOB first skirmish Bf109 & Spitfire set - 9/10 (love it, took a long time to get one at a decent price ...<$50)

Gem Aces P-51 Bald Eagle - 9/10 (great scheme, can live with pilot, goofy antenna the only letdown)

Corgi Hurricane from BBMF set - 10/10 - (got lucky and found a seller parting out the set - great BOB scheme on this Hurri)

Altaya Finnish Buffalo - 8/10 (one of their best and very underrated, rating is based on the appeal once I added the Finnish roundels)

Corgi Royal Navy Corsair (grey camo) 10/10 (tied with Kepford for my favorite Corgi Corsair)

IXO Hs-129 - 8/10 (one of their best paint finishes, could have been 9/10 with closed gear doors and swazi)

FOV P-40C - 8/10 (FOV vastly improved their paint finish, amazing engine detail for the scale, legs look a bit long)

HM Dauntless (Coral Sea) - 10/10 (so good I had to have one even though I'm not a Dauntless fan, amazing finish and detail)

IXO He-219 - 7/10 (not well finished but good casting, needs closed gear doors)

Corgi Merlins Over Malta Collector set - 10/10 (what can I say - the best set ever!)

IXO Defiant - 8/10 (like the buffalo - one of their best)

IXO Bf110 - 8/10 (better finish but still wish it had closed gear doors)

IXO Beaufighter - 8/10 (ditto above)

Altaya La-7 - 8/10 (nice casting & livery)

Altaya Mc-202 - 8/10 (excellent detail and finish, if the gear doors had fit better this would be a 9/10)

Corgi Warbirds Pete Brothers Hurricane - 7/10 (the only Warbird I've seen so far that I'd rate over a 6. With a pilot and more details painted on I'd give it an 8/10.)

Corgi Warbirds Unwin Spitfire - 4/10 (how could they be so far off on the green? No dihedral, but still better than the MkIX wing, plus all the other shortcomings of the Warbirds range, not much bang for the buck when I compare it to the FOV P-40C at the same price {$9.99} !)

Altaya He162 - 8/10 (neat little casting, accurate livery)

Altaya Bloch 152 - 7/10 (good detail and finish, if the gear doors had fit better this could be an 8/10)

Altaya Yak-3 - 7/10 (prop and gear are the weak points)

Corgi Schoppler Me-262 - 8/10 (great scheme, and thanks for the swazi!)

These are all great models, there are plenty more on the list, but these are my particular favorites. There's no particular rhyme or reason to it, but my absolute favorite would probably be the Midway Dauntless, which gets my vote for model of the year. The EI Mustang runs a close second, while Dragon gets props for really getting a Naval Aviation line started. Also Props to the Flying Mule for getting us an Aviation Archive Me-262 in Galland's livery.
