Re: Hobby Master wants your comments

Bombers are nice but too expensive. Think of the fighters you can get with the cha ching for just one bomber? I have one Lanc, Mickey the Moocher, BBMF set and one B-17, it's not that I don't like them, it's just that they take up way too much room and they are costly. I would love to see HM do the P-51 B, C, D and not in the same markings everyone else have done. I hope that helps HM?

Please, no more P-51s. There are so many worthy aircraft left to be done, 5 or 6 manufacturers in 1/72 doing Mustangs is enough, let's move on...

Re: Hobby Master wants your comments

1/72 bombers I'd be interested in, depending. I don't really need any more B-17's or B-24's unless they are something special, but maybe more of the Medium bombers, B-26, A-20, A-26....I would love to see what HM can do with those.
1/144th bombers I wouldn't buy, just not my scale.
As far as civilian stuff, I'm not interested.

For regular 1/72 stuff, I agree with a few of the posts for stuff like Jeeps, fuel trucks, kubelwagons, etc.....stuff that is essential for a good diorama type set up whether you do air or ground.

And for planes, let's see that P-61, Skyraider, P-39, and the previously mentioned medium bombers above.

Re: Hobby Master wants your comments

I would love the B-47, -58. How about an RA-5C Vigilante? WW II, FW-200, SM-79, Emily. Fighters/Attack, etc: Skyraider, Mohawk, F-89
For 1/72 vehicles, the "soft-skins" sound great.

Just my two cents worth.

I join with everyone else in appauding Hobbymaster for even asking!

Re: Hobby Master wants your comments

I hear you buddy. I would love an F-89. It is nice for a company to ask what we want.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I'll second the Mohawk and F-89.

I would gladly pick up a diecast B-47, but I don't think the sales are there to justify it. A B-58 would scale out nicely and is also very cool, but the number of schemes might kill that one as a possibility.

LOL!

Though I'm not particular about staying on topic, even I can see that many of the posts here fail to address HawkOneVoodoo's 4 questions.

Re: Hobby Master wants your comments

Good point bsmith. So I'll do my part.
First they would like your comments specifically about the three options listed below.

The possible new line includes :
(1) 1/72 or 1/144 bombers,
(2) civilian cars, trucks, farm machines, etc. in the scale of 1/43, 1/72, 1/87.
(3) Distributors stated that 1/87 is a very popular scale in Europe playing with steam engines.
UK recommends us to consider a line without scale for kids (something like Model Power).

I have to say first and foremost that I am a 1/72 WWII aviation die-cast collector. Anything outside of that realm would have to be very special for me to consider purchasing it.

(1) 1/72 or 1/144 bombers
1/72 would be far and away preferable to anything in 1/144. With HMs superior mold quality I would believe that anything they could produce would be able to blow away anything that Corgi has done so far in the bomber area, with the possible exceptions of the Lancaster, B-25, and He 111 (and possibly the JU 88 and Halifax, though we haven't seen what those will definitively look like yet). There remains lots of liveries to be done, and a superior model would definitely gain my interest. As has been posted in this thread previously, there is also a lot of stuff to be done in the area of 1 and 2 engine types. Some of the suggestions have been a little "out there", but the Beaufighter, Do 17, Il2, Kate, B-26/A-26, and even the P-61 would (apparently) be popular choices. If they wanted to try the DH Mosquito I would back them 100% on that.

(2) civilian cars, trucks, farm machines, etc. in the scale of 1/43, 1/72, 1/87
I would rather see 1/72 military support vehicles. Civilian product would not interest me at this time.

(3) Distributors stated that 1/87 is a very popular scale in Europe playing with steam engines
I'm not in Europe, I don't collect 1/87 scale, and I don't play with model trains. I'm not the guy to ask, and I'd have to guess that most of the forum members would echo my sentiments on that topic.

(4) UK recommends us to consider a line without scale for kids (something like Model Power).
Doesn't Model Power do that already? If HM wants to venture into that area, they can go right ahead, but they won't get me buying any of it.

I understand that HM wants to broaden their product range, but that would be product outside of what I collect. They have good stuff, and I wish them all the best in trying to get that to people outside of the Military aviation/armor demographic. They should try talking to people that have an interest in that type of thing. This isn't really the place to look for opinions, as we more than likely don't have much to offer, outside of the bombers.

SR-71 in 1/72 please...

Re: Hobby Master wants your comments

Canucklehead just about sums it up. A clear and precise answer to the questions that most chaps on the Hanger would support. My comments are,

1, Yes please, more twins would be great and with so many types to choose from, and if the price can be kept down I would be buying. I cannot understand why no one has made a DO217. It was a major part of the German bomber arsenal. Plus there are many schemes to choose from.

2,Civi cars trucks etc are not for me.

3,I would not buy anything off scale or no scale.

May I suggest the TIGERCAT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

God Bless America.
