| CAF Hangar Dance (Tulsa, OK) I attended the fifth annual Commemorative Air Force hangar dance last night in Jenks (Tulsa, OK). This is a great event, I would highly recommend you attend if your local CAF chapter holds these events. These dances are a blast and a great way to support the CAF. The evening included a Silent Auction, a fantastic photo and uniform display, 18-piece Big Band w/ singers, P-51 Mustangs "Miss America" and , a Sikorsky UH-34 Choctaw "Ugly Angel", There was also several aircraft on display outside the hangar. When I finally made it outside the only aircraft that remained was the American Airlines DC-3 that was restored here in Tulsa and flown to the AA museum. An Albatross, Mitchell, Mustang, Texans, and Liberator were all there at one point in the day. I have to say that the coolest thing about these dances are all the people dressed in WWII/40s outfits. I'd say out of about 5000 attendees 1500 to 2000 of the were in costume. Very cool event, attend if you get the chance! Here are a few quick pics from the end of the night. My camera's AF was on the fritz so they may be a little blurry. | |||||||||||||
