| Re: P-51 from 75FS/23FG It's amazing, in the one book I have, this same exact pic is in there. It's attributed to W Hess. That's not your grandfather's name is it? Anyways, it says it's equipped zero-length rocket tubes and was flown by Lt. Curtiss Mahanna. He scored three confirmed and three probable kills in the final months of the war, bagging an 'Oscar' and a 'Tojo' on 11 November 1944 and then another Ki-43 on 14 January 1945. Another interesting note is that they have the words Iowa Belle displayed as being red. Would love to know if that is true or not. | |||||||||||||
