| Fw-190 to be raised from the Sea. NOW WITH VIDEO, post #29 Tomorrow a Fw-190A-2 will be raised from the sea in Norway. It went down in 1943, pilot was saved by locals. Its now laying at 60 meters depth. There is a lot of wind, but hopefully this will not interfere with the raising.  It will be restored at put in a local museum  | |||||||||||||

From my own knowledge, the F.W.190 is a machine that was based at Herdla (in Northern-most Norway) in the Artic Circle - & was operated by J.G.5....... (the only Jagdgeschwader based in the region & responsible for North-Norway's defence). J.G. 5 are known as the 'Eismeer' Jagdgeschwader - the badge relates to their operating base's location 'in the land of the midnight sun'. Apparently, the Norwegians are gonna try to raise it tomorrow (1st Nov).
