Re: Dogfights on the History Channel

After hearing that story, I'd REALLY like to see Corgi do Risner's F-86. Besides. it did have some pretty unique art on it as well (Osprey - Korean War Aces plate 18???)

Marketing Idea: Corgi could do a History Channel Dogfight Series where they match the plane(s) to the episode AND include a DVD of the Dogfight episode. They could even leverage their new relationship with HM for Mig-21's etc...

In lieu of my normal commission, I'll settle for one copy of every Corgi airplane ever made.

Re: Dogfights on the History Channel

Corgi (CG-US35810) is scheduled to release Ralph Parr's F-86 in Nov.- "USAAF 4th FIW, 334th FIS, "Barb", Ralph Parr, Kimpo, South Korea, 1953". I have met him on a couple of occasions. He is aso credited with shooting down the last aircraft of the Korean conflict. Here's a bio. http://www.afa.org/magazine/valor/0287valor.asp

Re: Dogfights on the History Channel

It would also be cool if they made a two F-86 set with diorama base that had the two F-86's in flight during the push sequence.

It'll never happen, that would make too much sense.

Neat idea, Raven! I would even go as far as suggesting that the box package artwork - it would be nice to see a 'screen capture' frame of the dogfight of the fighters in action. Now that would be a....killer

Re: Dogfights on the History Channel

Anyone who missed "Air Ambush" on Friday night need to make sure their TiVo/DVR/VCR for the next showing, whenever it may be in your area.

There is an awesome sequence that shows a Robin Olds WWII dogfight in a P-38 version of Scat.

Check it out!

Re: Dogfights on the History Channel

It was excellent, Tyler...When I envision the classic hero fighter pilot, for some reason Robin Olds' face comes to mind...

Now, I'm really sticking my neck out doing this after the merciless shelling I gave flyXwire the other day, but here goes- the History Channel is going to be repeating this program again Sunday night at 11 P.M. EST and again at 3 A.M. Monday morning...It's the History Channel, so it should be airing at the same moment in time everywhere..Adjust for your individual time zones accordingly...

Re: Dogfights on the History Channel

On the website, it said you could send in recommendations for future shows. We could put together a list and e-mail it to them.

Any suggestions for famous dogfights?

After watching lastnight's episode, I think they should do a few more of the Air War in Vietnam episodes, for instance that of Capt. Steven Ritchie's ACE making victories (I think he's still alive?) and MOH winner Lt.Col. Leo Thorsness' F-105 shooting down a Mig 17 (Rendezvous with a Rattlesnake)
