Boyington, I love a guy that doesn't go by the rules, in fact he loved to break them.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

One good one that wasn't on there is Yeager. 12.5 victories, and of those, 5 were in one day. That also includes an ME-262 jet fighter. As his quote says, "The first time I ever saw a jet, I shot it down".

Bud Anderson would have gotten my vote if he'd been on the list.

Lance Wade, Glenn Eagleston, Don Beerbower, or Leonard K "pursue and destroy" Carson were as good as any of the above and deserve to be remembered

ok Lance Wade was in the RAF and Don Beerbower was Canuck in the USAAF, but they all count

Another thing about Bud Anderson is is very nice personality. He was awsome about signing my GMP Old Crow, and even discussed how accurate the GMP markings were.

Re: Who Is Your All Time Favorite Top American WWII Ace

I watched a video of Bud being interviewed. He only talked about the efforts of others and never about his own endeavors. He was reduced to tears when he talked about his respect and affection he had for his ground crew. What a truely great man.

Re: Who Is Your All Time Favorite Top American WWII Ace

I love the story about the ground crew staying awake all night to strip the summer camo off of Old Crow for the winter natural look.
