What are the best magazines??

I'm want to get a few magazines but I don't know which to get. There are quite a few to choose from so I don't want to waste my money subscribing to the wrong magazines. I would like some that deal with both miltary air and ground as well which one specialize specialize in one type of military diecast. Is Fine Scale Modeler a good reference source?

Re: What are the best magazines??

If you're looking for a model magazine I think "Scale Aviation Modeller International from England" is the best. Great articles, great color plates, great history background. And "Military Modeling Magazine from England" for ground vehicles and figures.

You can get them at squadron.com

What I would like to know is what are the magazines dealing with die-cast military models do most guys buy. I live in Eastern Canada and my selection is limited so I have to subscribe online so I don't want to buy a magazine that nobody else reads. So what are the top 5 or 6 magazines that you would recommend?

Just for diecast? Gee you got me there. I'd like to know about any diecast magazines too. I thought you were looking for general model reference magazines.

I guess I worded it wrong, to find out information, use as reference material, history or modelling what do you recommend for magazines? Preferably WWII and later.

Re: What are the best magazines??

Well the only other one i can think of is the one my father reads and that's
"Aeroplane" and the one i like is "Warbirds" and "Airpower".
You could also check these out on this web site:

Hope this helps.

My two favorites are Flypast(for real stories, specs, and pics) and Fine Scale Modeller.

Re: What are the best magazines??

One magazine I really like is called WWII. It is a general magazine of stories, both ground and air. This thread is making me think of getting more magazines. My son is always trying to get subscriptions of one fund raiser or another.
