Man, wouldn't it be so cool to see a piggy-backed Soviet space shuttle version - 'Buran' on top of that behemoth!

That monster is the ANTONOV 225 here are a few links for some photos of that monster

A useless bit of trivia, but the word "Mriya" means "Dream" in Ukrainian.

Sergey

Re: 1/400 Antonov AN-124-100 (GJVDA 511)

There have been 5 AN124s released, thus far. The Libyan shown above is actually a Herpa release. Gemini has released a Polet Fight, the Volga-Dnepr shown in the OP, a Volga-Dnepr/Heavylift hybrid (same reg # as the previous, but with slightly different markings) and the Antonov house colors. I have all five, but I'm waiting for Aeroflot, in particular.

And don't hold your breath on the -225. Collectors have been calling for it longer than we've been asking for the -124.

I've spent my money on strippers, diecast airplanes and camera gear. The rest, I've wasted.

Re: 1/400 Antonov AN-124-100 (GJVDA 511)

I found the Herpa 1/500 An 124 in the old Soviet colors and the InFlight Il 76...can't seem to pull the trigger though.

The -124 is over 5 inches long in 1/500 scale...that just goes to show you how big this plane is. Oh, the Il 76 is slightly over 3 inches at this scale.

I've seen the Lybian An124 on websites from both Gemini and Herpa.

These AN124's are not as abundant and are becoming more difficult to acquire these days... I am looking for the design bureau with the light blue tail.... I regret not picking that one up form ADI in Las Vegas...

Nice picture! Very realistic!
