GEMINI ACES P-51 RE-WORKED Antenna PICTURES

Well Mates i couldn't take it anymore so i did what i always do.
I took the orig antenna off the P-51B Bald Eagle and replaced it with a metal rod.
The pilot is a little thing and i repainted him to what a pilot should look like
I tried to make the flight hat leather.Painted a lifejacket.
It can be done really well if you know what your doing.
Enjoy the Pics

Re: GEMINI ACES P-51 RE-WORKED Antenna PICTURES

That looks really good Starman . How did you get the canopy off and was the pilot solidly glued in or easily removed?

Re: GEMINI ACES P-51 RE-WORKED Antenna PICTURES

The antenna was easy to do...Just get a good grip whiggle it loose and it will come out...I then put in a 2 inch long metal wire {i use this stuff all the time when i rig the bi-planes}Then you have room to work with the wire and you want to super glue it behind the pilot seat it lines up perfect... Same with the canopy but be very carefull it looks like the glue is on both sides...but because of the silver paint..the glue does not stick well to paint it comes off with a little bit tighter wiggle "don't break it" be carefull while doing this.
The pilot was not glued in very well and he popped out with a few wiggles.
Painted him up and done.
Good Luck doing it.

Thanks for the suggestion there Starman!!! The antenna was an obvious mod, but the pilot can be done also..

Nice work man, I love it when people modify a model to make it more accurate.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
