Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

They're looking good, just wish the stand was a chrome finish (polished or matte) .

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Nice pictures Starman. Can you take some shots showing the attachment points for the stand....the hole on the fuselage and the end of the stand?

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Thanks for the pics Starman, but, honestly I don't find these models a good value at MSRP of $30US. Aerials are definitely a problem area and models in whole look a bit crudish to me. Too bad as I was really looking forward to P-51B.

Regards,

Sergey

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

So far, from the pictures I've seen, these things look rather clunky. The tail planes and rudders look too thick, the flaps droop and rudders don't fit, there are ugly rivet heads here and there, and the pilots look like they've been stuffed in their cockpits.

Maybe I should reserve comment until they arrive on the stoop, but so far the GeminiAces disappoint. I had expected a much more sophisticated effort.

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Having seen a few pics now, I have to say I've got no regrets about not ordering any of the first round from Gemini. Much as I want a P-51B for the collection, I'm afraid the Bald Eagle scheme is completely uninspiring to me.

I have pre-ordered the Ding Hao and RAF P-51's, and hope they will be a little more appealing - guess we will have to wait and see !

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

This really is a nice model.

Make sure that you keep your eye out for a small black screw when removing the items from the container. It's easily discarded if you aren't aware that it's in there.

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Would that screw be of use in attaching to the display stand Mark?

Here is the ones you asked for. These fit the warbirds perfect.
The Mustangs problem is the air scoop under the wing the stand fits but not nice and snug like the other two.
So i used a different stand for it.I have no regrets at all... these are very nice for a 1:72 scale fighters.Very solid diecast and not clunky. For the first time them doing Warbirds there not that bad and hey.....I own a P-51B in a diecast

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Just been drooling over these 3 since I got home. I have to say that I'm not disapointed in any of them. Color seems a lot better in the flesh than in the photo's and also the detail seems a lot finer and less pronounced than some of the photo shots.

The flaps etc do seem to be metal, so hopefully they will stand up to repeated re-positioning. Mine are all very stiff and the movement range is extreamly limited. There seems to be very little plastic in them. I was supprized how heavy the spit was. I'm not 100% sure but I think the prop's are metal to. Flicking them around seems to give a metalic ching sound.

As for the stand. I have only fitted it to the 109 and although the peg and hole are very small the fit did seem firm. Gental shaking didn't budge it. Time will tell!!

Overall V.happy

Watch out for the screw for the stand - I almost lost the one from the P51. Didn't know it was there and it flicked out od the case when I pushed the plane back in.

Question I have on the 109 canopy. Should it still have the middle bars on it? I thought that they didn't get rid of these till the late model G's

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Interesting models. I am holding out for a desert 109 but truly hope
they fix the traffic cone antenna on the 109. The P-51 antenna looks like a Louisville Slugger baseball bat painted green. These models have my attention just waiting to see batch #2 and 3.
