Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

I see somethings that I like and some that I don't. I had really hoped to see this be an Eagles quality plane in 72nd.

I will take a look at the stand when I get mine - it shouldn't be too hard to make the peg longer.

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

They look pretty good but the green on JJ's spit seems a bit light and bright, it could be the camera of course.

The camera flash is definitey impacting the appearance. Sorry guys, I'm working on my camera skills. I will be interested in what others think when they get theirs.

The variation in the P-51 olive drab color is unual, the only time that happens with Corgi is when they spray different surfaces such as metal and plastic parts.

As far as I can tell the parts under each area are both metal but, even if they are not, to my eye the color variation is too great to be anything but a deliberate decision, or a real breakdown in communication on the assembly line.

By the way, I've looked for images on the internet and the one I found seems to indicate the same shade for each area.

OLD CROW,
What about the German Bf-109F has does it look?
I have seen photos that look like the wheels are too far apart
from the gear on 109 and spitfire.Have you seen the same thing?

I was also hoping that these would live up to all the hype - I'll reserve judgement until I've had the opportunity to evaluate them in person but do admit that I'm considering the possibility of cancelling my order of the second three in the range .

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

They might not be perfect, but how many planes do we buy all the time that are less than perfect? They look pretty good in the pictures. Not perfect, but pretty good. I have a feeling we all were thinking they were going to be an 11 out of 10.

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

If I may say something, first I can't wait to get my models as I am Drooling right now , but what I like seeing about the Spit is the actual wheel rims look correct rather than Corgi's poor efforts at the wheels. I know they are trying to save costs but I think Gemini might be taking Corgi to the cleaners! ???

Don't get me wrong, I still have them all on order.
It's just that the pics of the pre-pro unit and those of the final product look a little different.

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

I'm hoping that a lot of the difference between the pre-pro and these photo's if to do with the lighting in the photo's.

Flash or fluresanent lights can do funny things to green shades. We painted some walls green at home and I had the fluresant energy saver bulbs in the lights. The green changed colour before my eye's. Put rergular tuncsten bulbs in and the colour we painted came back

Anyway should find out tonight
