| Re: Received new Gemini Aces! Trouble with living on the right coast is that I still don't have my models yet!!! Must say, however, that I did not order the Mustang because that livery and pilot just don't appeal to me. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Received new Gemini Aces! Just got my "Bald Eagle" P-51B today. The QC on the plane is fabulous. It looks awesome, except for the slightly overzealous antenna (sorta reminds me of the problem they had to fix on the new U.S. nickel with the buffalo on it). I'd give the plane a 9 out of 10. Only major flaw, as stated by others, is the stand. Mine really just wouldn't fit into the hole in the bottom of the plane. Luckily, I had an extra stand from one of my IXO planes. The IXO Aichi B7A2 "Grace" is a REALLY heavy model, and I dropped it when I was dusting it. It made a kamikaze attack on the floor and the floor won! So I ordered another "Grace" from Spain and I ended up with an extra IXO stand.I had to do a bit of whittling to get the IXO peg to fit into the Gemini hole in the P-51B, but now the plane has a home. The ram scoop was still too much in the way to put the IXO stand in the correct direction, so I had to turn it backwards. It looks a bit odd, but it works just fine and is stable - definitely a lot more stable than the stand it came with! Now I just have to print up a little tag to put over the info. already on the IXO stand. Overall, I would highly recommend this one, though I would be prepared to display this one wheels down without the stand, get another stand to hold it, or do some gluing or modifications to the original stand to make it more stable. Once its displayed, this bird is beautiful! I don't have a normal Spitfire yet in 1:72 (I just have the Dragon clipped-wing Spitfire in the desert camo). So after all the reviews and pictures (and knowing that the stand works on this plane), I'm gonna go order a Gemini Spit. right now. Wish me luck! ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: Received new Gemini Aces! Got a confirmation days ago - still no P-51! Can't wait to get mine, but with all your reviews, I cancelled my next round of preorders for these. I think they'll be available once they are released. I've even seen these on ebay! Doesn't take long does it? | |||||||||||||

| Re: Received new Gemini Aces! Just got the B and the 109. Oooo that is a nice box. So velvety! Excellent heft and quality over all. Love the metal prop and aerial. My 109 aerial came off in my hand but it was easily glued on. I may not mess with these as I think they're fine and will increase in value. The aerials are not the best but I'll live. From 2' away who knows? Great paint and mould detail. Well made and detailed. The finest pieces of diecast I own I think. Sorry Corgi, I still love you, but from now on we'll just be friends. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Received new Gemini Aces! These look very good indeed and await them arriving in the UK. I have just seen some more pictures on the UK Forum if anyone is interested as they are close-up and also show the boxes too which look excellent. http://www.diecast-aviation.co.uk/fo...ead.php?t=3177 The only downside is that they have not arrived here yet. | |||||||||||||

| I see yet another downside I'm afraid... They might simply be too good :he Spitfire especially looks terrific !!! Next to Dragon's and Corgi's I own, it would make them look badly crude ...yet ! ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: Received new Gemini Aces! The green on that Spitfire however looks very bright. Wonder if the lights he has used has made this seem even brighter? The 109 and Mustang do look brilliant though! | |||||||||||||

| Re: Received new Gemini Aces! Folks, It seems like everyone is working REALLY hard to find fault with the Gemini (And Hobby Master.) airplanes. Having purchases the first three and taking a look at them I think we are getting it all wrong. Gemini is giving us exactly what we have been asking for from Corgi and Dragon. I think we all need to stop trying to find reasons they got it wrong and enjoy what you have. An all metal P-51B, ME-109F and Spitfire. Isn't this what everyone has been clamoring for? No plastic, no "fiddly-bits", good all around fit with metal landing gear. If you don't like the stand just put it on the landing gear that is a perfect and secure fit. If that doesn't work for you, grab a stand off your Forces of Valor and use that. (They actually have really nice stands.) Is the paint just a little too light or a little too dark? Who knows? I really doubt that aircrews in the 8th Air Force were matching EXACT paint tones and flagging a plane as unflyable if the olive drab was a little to drab. These three Gemini look and feel fantastic. I assure you that once you have these planes in your hands, you'll love them. | |||||||||||||
