Question Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Guys all I can say is that I'm relieved that there are now more positive reports emerging after some initial negative ones.

I'd decided to just wait until I got mine to make up my own mind. Maybe it's opportune to again ask the question do they live up to the hype?

Initially I was disappointed by the negative views. With more models in collectors sweaty paws what's the view now?

The tail plane issue is noted as well as the things GA will fix with the 3rd release.

Yeah, the early reports had me nervous too -- but I'm overall quite happy with them. I think they were over-hyped but that's not Gemini's fault really.

The antenna issues are truly bizarre -- I didn't have any tail plane issues. (And the pilots are indeed, a bit "overweight" ). The paint jobs are superb, the metal content very high, and the fit of the small bits is amazing! The Spit is simply G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S.

I'm very excited about the potential of this line -- I'm going to get the next wave for sure.

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

I have to say that I am guilty of being one of those who were sceptical.
They are actually really nice models. You have to get one of the Spitfires. That just a requirement. These are limited so I wouldn't wait too long.

Incase someone is curious how much metal these have, here is a "first shot" pic courtesy of the now defunct CHC...

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

After putting the Spit on my shelf, I had to put the Corgi Spit's into storage. There's just no comparison

From the pictures I've seen. the green of the Gemini Spitfire looks a bit "off". How accurate is it in reality (I know computer screens can distort colours quite badly)?

Think most of the negative reports were based on the pictures.
I finally learned that the camera may not lie but it sure exaggerates the h*ll
out of diecast planes.

It may be because of the camera but the pilots remind me of garden knomes.

For some reason the Gemini Spitfire seems to capture the refinement and elegance of the aircraft in a way that makes it look real and not like a model - truly a great piece of die-cast that I feel lives up to the hype .

[Also, I should let you all know that I almost dropped the Mustang and only managed to grip it by one of the (metal) wing flaps. Although it moved nearly 70 degrees off the horizontal there was no damage and the flap did not fall off - now try that with a Dragon and I surmise that the consequences will be severe ... .]

One sheep to rule them all ...

In many of the pics I've seen the green looks much brighter than it is in reality, same with the two olive drab colors on the P-51.

Re: Received new Gemini Aces!

Well boys at least now I can rest easy, I've ordered all three and was planning to order the next six. They can only get better from here on in. Cheers.
